Get that Friday feeling in Gstaad

Big games and big names to warm-up for the weekend

It’s an important day for all Swiss It’s an important day for all Swiss

It’s going to be a fantastic Friday at the Gstaad Major with a multitude of dramatic decisions made under the mountains!

As you can tell we’re pretty excited. Why? Well not only does the men’s Pool Play come to an end, we enter the elimination rounds for the women – and by the end of the day we will know our final four women left in the competition.

The last two remaining Swiss women in the competition are first and second on Center Court as they place first round elimination matches. Can Hüberli/Betschart and Forrer/Vergé-Dépré use the crowds’ noise to their advantage?

If Center Court’s not your thing, do yourselves a favor and head to Court 2 on Friday morning. Poreč Major silver medalists Doppler/Horst take on Herrera/Gavira in a mouthwatering Pool Play match at 11:00 CET before Alison/Bruno take on Italians Ranghieri/Carambula in a potential Olympic duel.

Between 13:00 and 14:00 CET the women play their round of 16 as eight games take place across four courts with the girls all eyeing a place in the semifinals.

We then head back to the business end of the men’s Pool Play, starting at 15:00 and the match on Center Court between Gibb/Patterson and Nummerdor/Varenhorst is sure to attract a massive crowd.

And if your Friday could not get any better the women’s quarterfinals take place between 17:00 and 18:00 CET. Who will book their place in the Saturday’s semis?

Remember, whatever happens, we’ll have all the action live on our website so you won’t miss a thing. And while you’re at it get following us on Snapchat (@SwatchMajors) for all the behind-the-scenes fun!
