The leading men at the Gstaad Major reached their peak performance on a scorching Thursday on Swiss sand.

And it was a particularly good day for the American teams on show as three teams from across the pond hammered their opposition to win both of their matches in the Pool Play.

smart Major Hamburg winners Lucena/Dalhausser were in irrepressible form, with their win over Guto/Saymon hugely impressive.

Bourne/Hyden were also in no mood to gift the opposition any opportunity as they raced to two excellent victories against Rosenthal/Casebeer and Álvaro Filho/Vitor Felipe.

And not to be outdone, Gibb/Patterson also stamped one foot in the last 16 with two wins – but tomorrow they will face Nummerdor/Varenhorst in one of the must see matches in Pool E.

They weren’t alone in winning both matches, oh no. Reigning champions Alison/Bruno won twice as did Italians Lupo/Nicolai, Canadians Saxton/Schalk and Spain’s Herrera/Gavira.

However, after winning their opening matches of the day, there were shock defeats for Latvia’s Samoilovs/Smedins and Austria’s Doppler/Horst.

But the Swiss had the last laugh of the day – as Gabathuler/Gerson won the final match of the evening on Center Court, delighting the Gstaadium in the process against Brazil’s Pedro Solberg/Evandro.

The men’s Pool Play comes to a conclusion on Friday – and remember you can catch every single moment on the sand on our live stream on our website
