No rest for the wicked

Poreč now, Gstaad later…

The amazing travelling circus of the Swatch Major Series is well and in motion – and we’re juggling two Majors at once: Poreč this week and Gstaad in Switzerland next week.

So after the medals have been won and the national anthems sung here in Croatia, we and all of the world’s best players leave the beach and head for the beautiful alpine atmosphere that attracts thousands of fans to the Gstaad Major.

And when we mean all of the world’s best, that’s exactly what me mean. All of last year’s medal winners, together with the athletes that will be ripping it up at the Olympics in the summer, will be present in the mountains!

It will be, as ever, a truly international event as the rich and famous join beach volleyball fans from all over the world for a week on the beach 1,000 meters above sea level.

Last year’s competition was dominated by Brazil, who snapped up two golds thanks to Alison/Bruno and Larissa/Talita.

The good news is that beach volleyball legends Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross return after missing the Poreč Major to try and win a medal in Gstaad. 12 months ago the Americans had to sit out their bronze medal match due to injury – so we’re confident that they will be doing everything in their power to put that disappointment behind them.

A Major is a Major is a Major! It’s a big deal – and the entry list speaks for itself. Is your favorite team due to make the trip? Click here to find out!

See you next week, Gstaad!
