After Gstaad silver there’s no rest for Laboureur/Sude
They might have lost the golden crown won last year, but Chantal Laboureur and Julia Sude are now eyeing another medal next week in the European Championships in Holland.
The German duo lost to Canada’s Melissa Humana-Paredes and Sarah Pavan in an epic three-set final in the Swiss Alps.
But attention quickly turns to the next tournament for the European elite in the Netherlands – including Julia and Chantal, who won bronze 12 months ago.
“We play in two days so we’ll rest well tomorrow [Monday] but there are a lot of strong European teams to worry about,” said Chantal. “Of course want to go to the final. We lost the first game here before going to the final so we have to be careful next week.”
Julia added: “Gold in the Euros is our dream, we started badly here, losing to a good qualifying team, but we never let the feeling of winning gold here last year and we ended up going very far.”
