Three-time Olympic champion Kerri Walsh Jennings, and her teammate Nicole Branagh, will return to the Beach Volleyball Major Series for the first time in a year when we head for the Swatch Major Gstaad in July.

The duo have been handed a wildcard into the tournament – as have fellow Americans Sean Rosenthal and Chase Budinger. The action at one of the world’s most breathtaking spots for beach volleyball kicks off on July 10.

My eyes are watering with appreciation. Thank you for honoring @NicoleBranagh and I with this opportunity. We will do our best & give it all we've got. ♥️🙌🙏 Thank you @BeachMajors Thank you #Rudy #GstaadMajor #HeavenOnEarth #ComeupSlowdown https://t.co/7URHBGr6mW

Legendary Kerri, 39, has won a record six times in the mountains, the unique tournament 1,050 meters above sea level, including a 2007 World Championship triumph with Misty May Treanor. Walsh and Branagh will be making their first appearance at a Major Series stop since last season’s Gstaad Major where they reached the last 16.

Veteran Rosenthal also enjoys the alpine air, having registered two tournament victories in Gstaad, the last of which came in 2014 with Swiss-born teammate Phil Dalhausser. This season, two-time Olympian Sean has teamed up with former basketball star Budinger, with the pair finishing a respectable ninth place in the three-star World Tour tournament in Lucerne in May. Budinger, 30, will be making his Major Series debut.

Also receiving wildcards for the main draw are Swiss teams Gabriel Kissling and Michiel Zandbergen in the men's main draw and Dunja Gerson and Laura Caluori in the women's.
