13 unlucky for Pavan/Humana-Paredes as Larissa/Talita book final place
Brilliant Brazilians Larissa/Talita are in their third successive Gstaad Major final – and are now eyeing a place in the history books – and another golden cowbell!
No teams has ever won three successive titles in this picturesque setting but the 2015 and 2016 champions are on course to change all that following their straight sets semifinal win over Canada’s Sarah Pavan and Melissa Humana-Paredes.
Larissa/Talita were too strong, winning 21-16, 21-15 in just 34 minutes on Center Court. The win ended Poreč Major champs Sarah and Melissa’s run of 12 successive victories in Major Series competition in the last week.
The Brazilians will face Germans Chantal Laboureur and Julia Sude in the final which gets under way at 4.30pm CET.
History, however, is firmly on Larissa and Talita’s side. The Brazilians have won all four of the previous meetings between the two teams. Can the Germans stop them from completing the hat-trick and end their own run of defeats against their final opponents? Find out later by watching on BeachStream!
