Watch out Gstaad…the Canadians are on the march in the mountains
Poreč Major champions Sarah Pavan and Melissa Humana-Paredes are hunting back-to-back Major Series golds as they cruised into Saturday’s semifinals.
The duo made it 12 wins on the spin in Major Series competition in the past week with a quarterfinal victory over Brazilians Agatha/Duda on Center Court.
After the sand had settled on Anouk Vergé-Dépré’s and Joana Heidrich’s unbelievable victory in the previous quarterfinal, the Canadians and Brazilians took the court looking for a place in the semifinals.
And the Canadians never looked in never trouble against Agatha and Duda, winning in straight sets 21-17, 21-17.
Sarah and Melissa will take on another Brazilian team in the semifinals – Larissa/Talita, who are aiming to complete a hat-trick of Gstaad Major wins.
